This beautiful thatched roof pub is a grade II listed building and dates back to 1616 when it was a coaching house known as The Black Horse. An unusual feature of the building is the set of four mounting steps at the front left side. Typically there are only three mounting steps found on most buildings. In addition to the usual range of draught and bottled beers you might expect to find, that are also a good range of cask ales. With a range of traditional Lancashire dishes, sandwiches and more it's a great stop off on the M6.
